LJWC Programs

TLC Camp

TLC Camp was established in 1983 by the Lombard JuniorWomen's Club. Our purpose is to provide a fun-filled week of camp activities for children with cancer and a sibling. The children are ages 5 through 13. Ours is the only camp in Illinois that allows a sibling to share the experience. The camp had humble beginnings with just 11 children the first year, but has grown to approximately 100 children in recent years.

Lilac Princess Program

In 2001, LJWC obtained sponsorship of the Lilac Princess Program. This time-honored tradition has been in existence in our community since 1930. It is an important part of Lilac Time in Lombard and LJWC is proud to be involved. The contest is open to ladies of Lombard between 16 and 21 years of age. The girls are judged on academic record and community service involvement, as well as poise, grace, speaking ability and appearance.

LJWC Philanthropic Fund

The LJWC Philanthropic Fund Inc. was created in 2008. The establishment of this fund enabled us to acquire 501(c)3 status. With this status, it is much easier to obtain donations from area businesses and those donations allow us to raise more money for the organizations that we elect to support.

There are abundant opportunities for members to interact socially. These events include "After Meeting Socials", "Girls Movie Night" and a Ladies Luncheon. We celebrate our "Junior" affiliation during Junior Week in October with a variety of special activities. These events are a great way for members to bond and have fun, which makes serving our community together even more rewarding.
